સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટે ભારતીય ચૂંટણી પંચ દ્વારા હાથ ધરાયેલી સ્પેશિયલ ઈન્ટેન્સિવ રિવિઝન (SIR) હેઠળ હાથ ધરેલા ચૂંટણી સુધારણામાં બુથ લેવલ ઓફિસર્સ (BLO)ના મૃત્યુની ઘટનાઓ પર ગંભીર ચિંતા વ્યક્ત કરી છે. આ અંગે સુનાવણી કરી રહેલી સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટના ચીફ જસ્ટિસ સૂર્ય કાંતની બેન્ચે રાજ્ય સરકારોને નિર્દેશ કર્યો છે કે, હાલના બીએલઓના કામકાજને હળવું કરવા માટે રાજ્ય સરાકોર વધારાની કર્મચારીઓ તહેનાત કરે, જેથી હાલના બીએલઓના કામના કલાકો ઘટાડી શકાય.

ભારતીય રૂપિયાએ આજે ટ્રેડિંગની શરૂઆત અત્યંત નબળાઈ સાથે કરી છે અને ડૉલર સામે ફરી એકવાર નવું રેકોર્ડ નીચલું સ્તર સ્પર્શ્યું છે. ગઈકાલના બંધ સ્તર ₹90.19 પ્રતિ ડૉલરની સરખામણીએ આજે સ્થાનિક ચલણ ₹90.41 પ્રતિ ડૉલર પર ખુલ્યું, એટલે કે શરૂઆતી કારોબારમાં જ રૂપિયો 22 પૈસા તૂટ્યો. આ તીવ્ર ઘટાડો સૂચવે છે કે વિદેશી બજારોનું દબાણ, મજબૂત ડૉલર અને વૈશ્વિક અનિશ્ચિતતા રૂપિયા પર ભારે પડી રહી છે.
