The Shambles on Mary Street, which was a popular meat market for many years, had fallen into a state of dereliction prior to an “extensive regeneration project” which has transformed it into hub for “community events and gatherings”.

A small Wexford community has said it “will not back down” as it continues to fight a proposal to have a 300 acre solar farm developed in its locality. With a “proliferation” of solar farms already installed in their area, the Gusserane Community Action Group (GCAG) is opposing a project from Gen7 Renewable Energy Limited to develop the Shelburne Energy Farm in the townland of Cloonagh.
