Chicago police are investigating a series of stabbings on Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) property, with four attacks occurring in five days. The most recent incident involved a man being stabbed in the chest on the Red Line at West 69th Street, and is the fourth such attack in five days. The attacks come as federal funding for the CTA remains uncertain, with the agency facing a potential loss of up to $50 million in funding unless new safety measures are implemented. Despite the recent attacks, overall crime on CTA property has decreased, with a nearly 9% decrease in 2025 compared to the previous year.
